The 2017 Ice Cream Awards this year started with a bang. The gala dinner kicked off with a full-blown laser show, followed by Jeremy Corbet entertaining us throughout the night as MC. The people were great, the food was even better and the awards? Well, we’re stoked with our results!
Black Doris Plum scooped up gold in the premium category, closely followed by Fig & Honey and Lemon Shortcake both scoring themselves a silver each. Try them for yourself, look out for our new tubs at your local supermarket.
The awards didn’t stop there. Earlier last month our innovation team soon became inspired by a team mate who had recently returned from Turkey with a fragrant and fruity tea flavour, straight from their local street market. From here the birth of our experimental ice cream flavour Istanbul Market Berry Tea was born; a berry tea ice cream with a splash of saffron and spiced cardamom ripple.
We wanted to bring something new, something bold and something a little different to the table. Thankfully for us the judges agreed, awarding the Istanbul Market Berry Tea a gold in the experimental category.
