Our Kāpiti Gouda has a sweet buttery flavour, with caramelised fruity notes that improve with age. This creamy semi-soft cheese is a dutch-style Gouda. Pair with any stone fruit, granny smith apple, green mango, or alternatively sandwiched between a good cracker and wholegrain mustard. It’s worth noting Gouda is not pronounced as goo-da or gow-da but more like a hoo-da , with the h being a very Dutch, throat clearing consonant.
Best Served At
Serve at room temperature to allow the cheese’s full flavour, aroma and texture to bloom. Remove the cheese from the fridge, place on the platter or board, then cover with a clean damp cloth an hour before serving.
Best Stored at 4 °
After it’s been opened, re-wrap in cling film or aluminium foil and then place in an airtight container to prevent cross-contamination and drying out.
