Our Kōwhai Gruyere has a sweet, wine-like aroma and mild nutty flavour which will keep you coming back for more. Smooth in texture, the swiss style creates a mild gas when crafted, which causes the small holes to appear in the cheese, often known as eyes. Perfect on a cheese board paired with nuts, fresh or dried fruit and fruit chutneys.
This is an excellent melting cheese so is perfect in sandwiches and cooking, especially a fondue).
Best Served At
Serve at room temperature to allow the cheese’s full flavour, aroma and texture to bloom. Remove the cheese from the fridge, place on the platter or board, then cover with a clean damp cloth an hour before serving.
Best Stored at 4 °
After it’s been opened, re-wrap in cling film or aluminium foil and then place in an airtight container to prevent cross-contamination and drying out.
