KĀNUKA HAVARTI
Our Kāpiti Kānuka Havarti is buttery smooth and mildly aromatic. This incredible cheese won Gold at the 2019 NZ Cheese Awards and ranked 3rd best Havarti in the world at the 2020 Wisconsin World Champions of Cheese. The name Kānuka comes from the coastal New Zealand Kānuka tree that has beautiful white flowers and covers much of Kāpiti Island.
The smoothness of this Havarti provides the perfect platform for pairing. Try with coffee, chilli and honey, or matcha green tea. For something a little daring, try it with a little kimchi. It packs a punch reminiscent of good old cheese and pickles.
Best Served At
Serve at room temperature to allow the cheese’s full flavour, aroma and texture to bloom. Remove the cheese from the fridge, place on the platter or board, then cover with a clean damp cloth an hour before serving.

After it’s been opened, re-wrap in cling film or aluminium foil and then place in an airtight container to prevent cross-contamination and drying out.
