Our Kāpiti Kakato Gouda it a creamy semi-soft Dutch-style cheese, with a sweet buttery flavour, and caramelised fruity notes that improve with age. Kakato means flavoursome, delicious and appetising in te reo Māori, a perfect description for this divine cheese.
Pair with any stone fruit or granny smith apple, or alternatively sandwiched between a good cracker and wholegrain mustard.
Best Served At
Serve at room temperature to allow the cheese’s full flavour, aroma and texture to bloom. Remove the cheese from the fridge, place on the platter or board, then cover with a clean damp cloth an hour before serving.
Best Stored at 4 °
After it’s been opened, re-wrap in cling film or aluminium foil and then place in an airtight container to prevent cross-contamination and drying out.
